A hand loom exhibition is being organized by lepakshi handicrafts emporium in rajahmundry at the Umaramalingeswara kalyanamandapam during the weekend. All the articles would available at production cost and hence cheaper price.

Multiplex to come up in rajahmundry

In a step to enhance and promote Rajahmundry as a truly modern city Andhra pradesh tourism development corporation has invited tenders for construction and development of multiplex, hotel and shopping mall in a prime 3 acre land in bank colony under public private partnership. Industrial majors like Reliance/Ad labs are keen in investing in rajahmundry.

Airport expansion update

Development works at the rajahmundry airport are going on at brisk pace. In addition tenders have been called for airport beautification, parking structures development and maintenance, installation of vending machines and snack bar.

Vinayaka chavithi celebrations underway at Rajahmundry

Rajahmundry, the culture city , living upto the expectations of its name celebrated vinayaka chaturthi with pomp and geity. This year , like in 2007, the Lord Ganesh's statue at town hall is the biggest and largest among all the statues in east godavari. Navrathri celebrations are underway at Ainavill sidhi vinayaka swamy temple and Biccavolu sri lakshmi ganapthi temple. Ganesh pandals were also errected at ganesh chowk, tadithota kambal tank and nalam vari street.

Freedom express reaches Rajahmundry

The History on wheels has reached the historic city of Rajahmundry last sunday. This exhibition on train has a rare collection of archives, photos related to Indian freedom movement was available for 3 days for the citizens of Rajahmundry. It was indeed a proud moment as the city itself produced greatest freedom fighters like Alluri Sitaramaraju, Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu etc.
